As I Lay Dying by William Faulkner?

Its about a family going through the death of their mother. Each "chapter" (Faulkner didn't really write it in chapters, more like different people's perspectives...) is in the perspective of a different character, in the form of a stream-of-consciousness narrative. In other words, that's how the characters are thinking as the action of the story unfolds. It's really quite intriguing, a great story to read. Warning, however: one of the characters is mentally handicapped, so his sections are hard to get through.
