Do black people read white writers?

I've found several black writers I like for example the short stories of Ralph Ellison, and I like some of Walter Mosley's books. I've seen other white people read black authors, for example the women who tried out Sapphire's "Push," but from my experience I've never seen black people reading Hemingway or Faulkner. Not to say they don't... but I was wondering if you've known anyone who reads books by authors of other ethnicities. Or if you, yourself venture into the authors of the opposite race. Sometimes it unfortunately seems like white people read books for white people and black people read books for black people
