How come the arrow keys always scroll down when i dont want them to?

Whenever i press the arrow keys or the spacebar during online videogames the screen scrolls down! I hate it when that happens and it ruins my games. IT SUCKS and i dont know how to stop it! Please help!! ( by the way its a laptop computer ) -- R.A.O.
